Default McChip Tune Targa 4 GT3

I just emailed them to see if they can replicate the vehicle shown in the picture. The HP gains I’m sure are relatively common.

But id love it if I could mod my car to have the performance upgrade along with these visual alterations.

I think this thing is just incredible.

Anyone on here know know if this is possible?

The cost to do that conversion alone I'd estimate would cost you the price of another 911. To me, that thing is an abomination and sexy at the same time.

Im definitely fearful of the potential costs. And clearly they can be prohibitive.

I think it’s just glorious. One of the best looking vehicles I’ve ever seen.

I emailed them last week to see if they could make a harness bar for a targa. My logic was if they made a Targa lean more towards GT3 they may have looked into it. However, they did not respond to my email. Let us know what they say.

I'd estimate ~75K for the aesthetics.... Remember you are also needing wider axles and CL for the $$$ wheels but there are certainly some shortcuts here to go non OEM.

The engine swap is going to be >100K.... transmission, cooling, etc. 15K for just the exhaust!

1. Front fender would probably be $$$ and reversable if you keep stock fenders
2. Rear fender cut out - $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
3. Roll bar, check these guys in the UK, https://flat6motorsports.com/product...arness-bar-991

seems like it would be easier to turn a GT3 into a targa. or maybe some wicked T-Tops.

Front fenders are bolt on, front bumper is basically bolt on with associated parts. Wheels are centerlock straight swap if you have centerlocks already. Hard part is rear quarter panel air intakes. If you want those to be functional then you’d need to get parts from a 991.2 turbo and see if they can be modded to fit and routed to work with the additional hardware associated with the targa top. If you just want the aesthetics then I’m sure you could bolt those on similar to the rear fenders and place a piece of black mesh in the back of the hole and use it for additional engine cooling.

Personally, I think it looks hideous. Every possible exterior mod on the same car is overdone x 100 imo but everyone is welcome to their own opinion of course.

I'm honestly 50/50 love it/hate it and can't decide no matter how much I deliberate in my head!

The CL are also on axles that stick out. Plus to replace everything suspension wise UNDER the fenders is nuts.

If money is no object and you just simply want this then go for it but if you have that kind of money then why not just go for a Singer and have them build what you want from the ground up. It's probably not much difference in effort or cost.

Okay. So no response as of yet.

But I do appreciate the genuine feedback here.

Money is a factor. And Singer is a dream.

I truly do love the Targa I have. I’ve warned one fir a long time. But I have the disease of always wanting to push the envelope.

Based on comments here, this isn’t an option. But it was fun to think about for a hot minute.

Sure is fun to fantasize... I almost did a front end conversion off a 3RS

There are some misleading facts in here.

The front clip is bolt on.. Hood, fenders, bumpers.. The issue is that these are off a GT3 RS which has the stage 2 widebody ("stage 2" for lack of a better term).. So while they will bolt up, your front end will end up being wider than the rear end. TT, TTS, 3RS, 2RS have a wider body than the widebody 4S, GTS, GT3, GT3T. Have you ever been behind one of the mentioned cars? The rear hips are so wide it looks like you can sit on the rear wheel arches.

You'd definitely need the newer suspension bits to widen the track underneath the skin.

Sell the 458 and do the conversion!

The front panels alone are like $40k without paint. $25-30k for PCCB. $12k for wheels. Doing this would be lighting money on fire, better to just buy an RS cuz it might cost you almost the same as doing that, except you'll just have a Targa that may be less desirable to many buyers at resale that you shelled out $100k+ to mod.
