Default Windshield defect

Sparkles, thousands of them, on all windows in direct sun

Anyone else have this?

I read about someone who had this on their 911 windshield & had it replaced under warranty but, the replacement one had the same defect.
I mostly notice it on the windshield. But it is all my windows in this MY2019 C2S.

It seems to be a characteristic of modern glass. My 2006 Cayman S (bought new) had that problem. My wife's 2018 4 Runner has that problem. My "new to me" 2015 991.1 GTS has that problem.

My 3k mile 2019 has them, which are most noticeable when driving into the sun as it sets, but otherwise it is fine.

Seems others have this same defect as well.

I don't have it in my other Porsche MY2016.

In my experience, if you want to see the problem just drive into the setting or rising sun. The windshield will look like it has been sandblasted.

It is not at all noticeable once the sun is up a bit, but very noticeable if you are driving directly into the sun.

I don't know if thus is a byproduct of lighter glass, or safer glass, but it clearly exists in newer vehicles, and not just Porsches. As mentioned, my wife's '18 Toyota 4 Runner has the same issue.
