Default 991.2 PDK Seven Speed Transmission. Torque Limit ?

Planning to install a tune in my 991.2 Base Cabrio and I sure the engine can handle the HP increase. What I'm not sure of, is how much the PDK can handle in terms of torque before the discs start to slip or even have some damage.

Every day you see more aggressive tunes coming into the market and I just wan't to make sure I'm not going over the design limits.

In a few podcasts with BBI founder and owner Betim stated numerous times that the 911 is so incredibly over built. He said this when discussing the massive hp increases that they can get without needing the change out parts that would need to be replaced on other Marques. Check out the Smoking Tire podcast.

Your tuner should know what is wafe safe and conservative and what is sketchy and pushing the limits. If not, find someone else.

I wouldn't start to worry until you reach around 800-900hp.

Beyond that, your biggest obstacle would be software and tuning. The 991.2 computers still haven't been fully cracked yet.

That is roughly what Betim said. The OP, I don’t know what potential limitations are with the base 991. BBI has an incredible reputation in the Porsche community and they just won the Pikes Peak hill climb with their custom built 911 RSR. No small feat. They know a few things that others do not. I would recommend calling them and having a discussion about your wants and what they could deliver. You might be pleasantly surprised. Best of luck. Keep us posted on any modifications.

Its programmed to be 406 ft lb but its probably higher for short term shennanigans. Anecdotally, I had a stock macan turbo that needed pdk replacement for some BS reason because its not serviceable...like a loose bolt or something... go figure. God help me if I had tuned it the bill was 20k. I was spooked so i ordered a manual T. Figured the gearset is bulletproof and clutches are serviceable. I knew full well it was gonna get juiced.

I think the biggest obstacle might be tires.

Just over 650 wtq is when it will begin to slip, if and when you go venture this far you will then need your line pressure increased to help the clamping force...
