My introduction into the Porsche world was via a Panamera. I hadn't warmed up to the idea of a coupe and had been shopping around and test driving various cars, and on a whim stopped at the Porsche dealership close to me. They happened to have a GTS, which ended up blowing me away and getting me hooked to the brand. Fast forward to last year and I sold the GTS to a fellow Rennlister, and decided I had to experience the flagship. It took months of searching to find a spec I liked but ultimately I found one with decent mileage, a 2012 911.1 Carrera S and struck a deal.
I was torn between the 991.1 and 991.2 but ultimately found the sound of the .1 to be more satisfying. It finally arrived and man, it is a beautiful car. I'm kind of stunned that I finally have one, it's a special feeling. Look forward to sharing my thoughts on it, happy to be part of the club.
Funny thing is, this is the second Porsche I've brought back to Texas. The Panamera was from Houston and ended up in Boston before I brought it back to Austin. Same with this 911, which was also from Houston and ended up in Charlotte, NC. Funny how things work out.

My 2012.5 991.1 C2S has been the least troublesome most reliable car I have ever owned, including 4 other Porsches going back to 1973. It is truly a go anywhere anytime machine.
The gentle PSE fireworks have prevented my from moving on to a 991.2 or Turbo (so far).
A bonus with Platinum Silver is that it hides dirt and swirls like nothing else. It's silver over gold quality is its own patina. When asked what color that is, I reply "road salt silver".
