service and warranty
Is it required to have all service done at an authorized porsche dealer to keep cpo in force?
Can you take it to someone else or do oil changes yourself ?
What is required if you can do your own service to keep warranty valid.

You can do it anywhere or do it yourself. Just keep all receipts. Make sure you follow the time and/or mileage requirements specified by Porsche and you will have no warranty problems.

Let me add that Carfax has a nifty app that lets you document all service and upload receipts. It merges with any service that was documented in the past by dealers or independents. Great for keeping your service records organized and also great when you go to sell the car in the future. It is free.

First time hearing about the mycarfax app. Thanks guys! I’m looking at a 911 and just loaded the vin to find complete maintenance service history and locations serviced! Great information.

Correct, if one documents the required services, no matter who does it, and has receipts in case something is questioned, it does not matter to PCNA. Needless to say they would prefer that everyone goes to a dealer for service but it is not mandatory.

Pretty sure the Magnuson Moss warranty act protects consumers in this case and allows them to service wherever they would like or DIY.
One thing to keep in mind though is you may have an easier time getting certain things covered that are a gray area if you have a relationship with your dealer. I am talking about instances where the dealer could probably cover/goodwill it, or not.
However, these instances are not that often and the money you save by DIY’ing or taking to an independent should outweigh it. Dealer is going to be $200 for an oil change. An Indy $150 or less. DIY $100 or less.

Porsche of Jacksonville charges $375 + tax for an oil change, which is why they only got my business for my first free oil change.

A year ago I was quoted $1,000 for an oil change and brake fluid change on my '13 Cayenne by the dealer in NC. I was told I was also being charged shop time while it sits in the bay waiting for the fluids to drain.
Needless to say I declined and did it myself. I'm out of warranty but even if I have warranty left I'd still do it myself and hold the receipts in case there were any warranty claims down the road.
