Default Anyone put Recaro or aftermarket seats in their 991?

I was thinking of putting in some Recaro Sportster GT seats in and wanted to see if anyone has done aftermarket seats and their thoughts/reviews on them. Thank you!

Are not satisfied with the standard seats? I feel like the Porsche 911 seats are more painful for my back than any other seats I have experienced before. I have always been driving BMW sport seats or M cars.

+1. That is why I was thinking either the 14-way or 18-way seats would be the preferred course of action.

Usually can be resolved with something like this. I've done this before on other makes.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/PORSCHE-2-7...-/261532742948

Used for Diagnostics on Airbag Systems or to FOOL the airbag ECU into thinking the removed / faulty part/s are present & working. Or maybe You've replaced a seat with a sports seat and harness's or replaced the standard steering wheel with an aftermarket one.

With the help of this resistor, it can turn off the SRS/Airbag light, one resistor is needed for each removed / faulty airbag or pretensioner. Resistors will only work on a working system, they will not work on a system that has logged crash damage activation.

Ask this question over in our dedicated Racing & DE Forum. Lots of guys there replace OE factory seats for Recaros.

Does this just turn off the airbag warning light but the airbag is still active in an event of accident?

It stops the airbag light for the removed airbag. IE you remove OEM seat airbags from car, airbag light for seat airbags does not come on, the car thinks they are still in place. The rest of the remaining airbags will still function.

Any update on this? All the folks I've met with 991 and 981 and aftermarket seats live with the airbag light. I've spoken to a shop in Florida and they were able to disable to light using a black market program or whatever and it wasn't easy. Everyone just lives with the light since the car is typically used track only.
Other options thrown out there have been tape over the light or remove the bulb form the dash.

I've got an email in to BBi as I found they have their own brackets for this - will update. My car is not daily driven - eventually will be tracked - but basically wanted a newer/better upgrade for the seats (I have the standard heated/ventilated).

Seats are personal. The factory Porsche seats are great. If you will eventually track the car, you're better off going with a fixed back seat. Also, check if the Sportster seat works with a sub mount belt. Brackets for most seats is the easy part, the car has been around log enough there are plenty of options....at least for race seats. The Sportster seats aren't popular with the track crowd because you can't race with them and it's a limited market for those swapping seats just for the street.

Good point - something I'll definitely need to consider before this purchase.
