Just got mine done Wednesday and all I can say is WOW!!! Also had sport cats and BMC filters installed. Will be custom tuning it next week but honestly the OTS tune is more than plenty.

If youre just doing stage 1 Id skip both. Makes no difference and if anything increases your chance of knock and pulling timing without a pro tune

How much more horsepower does the Header swap add?

Agree, from what I've seen. The only guy I know who did it with GTS turbos, did only the BMC Filter and cats mods, with the Cobb Stage 1 tune. He has had no problems and has huge power and torque - near 550 Hp and near 500 ft-lbs. Much more than that risks CELs, and possibly limp mode. Higher torque than that approaches the limit the ECU is set for. And pre-detonation can be a problem with 93 octane at that boost level.

I always thought the tune was specific to the mods u are doing ie headers, sport cats muffler change etc
