Default Targa top recalls?

Anyone know the details or affected range? Work order is not mine.

Just scheduled the repair on my 2017 gts Targa for next Saturday. SA didn't know alot about the recall but said the dealership has done a few, it takes about 2 hours, and something about reinforcing/ replacing certain "rivets." Yikes

Mine's a 2014 and seems to be in the batch. You can check by entering your VIN here.... https://recall.porsche.com/prod/pag/...f/VIN?ReadForm

Here is the info provided....

Checking hinge for convertible-top compartment lid WJ90 May 29,2019

Description

There is a possibility that the end position in the actuating mechanism for the convertible-top compartment lid on the affected vehicles may not be reached due to unfavorable tolerances. This could result in the convertible top being partially released.

Remedy

To prevent this from happening, the setting of the hinges on the convertible-top compartment lid must be checked and adjusted if necessary. The control unit for the convertible top may also have to be re-coded, depending on the date of manufacture of the vehicle.

Default Hate going to dealer?

Actually terrifying. They never seem to know what they are doing. What they told me on the phone had to be done regarding the recall was completely false.
Getting work done on Saturday prior to the Vintage Rally on Long Island on Sunday.

Has anyone done this Targa top recall with the dealer? Mine is working fine so would prefer not to have it tinkered with but still curious...

When I took my 2018 targa 4s in to the dealer for the free one year oil change, the SA informed me of the recall. On the work sheet, it looks like the top was checked, and Krytox grease applied. Nothing else was done.

I had my 2019 in for the free 1st service about 3 weeks ago and no recall for it was confirmed - I wonder why (I forgot to ask)?

True but would it be just because they added grease in 2019 from the factory?

The letter from Porsche states it is for 2014-2019 models. According to the letter: "On some affected vehicles, an out of specification gap in the Targa top can create noise and vibration when the vehicle is driven at high speed"
