Default new 991.2 Carrera 4 S

I've just picked up a new 19 c4 s " for my wife" and am poking through the forum to see what everyone thinks the best aftermarket tire/wheel combo is for snow. We live in the Utah mountains.
THanks for any input and sorry about this tired topic

Summer tires are 305 / 30R20 in the rear; you can't get snow tires in that size. You have to go down slightly to 295 / 30R20.

Your choices in that size are either Pirelli Sotto Zero II's or Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4s. Both are Porsche N-spec.

I've got Pirellis on my 2018 4 GTS in winter. They've been fine. I had one episode where I had ice on my driveway and they pretty much ignored it. I haven't done packed snow, which is what you might encounter on a not-too-well-plowed dirt road.

I figure for winter wheels, there's no reason to go with expensive forged rims. I've got some Victor Equipment 20" LeMans on my car (which is 5 lug, not centerlock, mainly to facilitate winter wheel swaps). You're not going to be pushing the car to the point where the wheels matter, and winter wheels are more likely to pick up dings for one reason or another.

19 inch rims won't fit if he has rear-axle steering or ceramic brakes. They should fit otherwise.

Congratulations on the C4S. I have a 2018 (delivered in 2017) that I drive year round in New England. I didn’t opt for rear axle steer so that I could use 19 inch wheels and tires. I bought a set from the dealer for 4k. They are 19 inch wheels from the base Carrera with 245/40 front and 295/35 rear. Mine was delivered with Continental tires in 2017. The extra sidewall is very useful when the roads get pitted. You can get Pirellis too. The dealer stores the wheels and tires not in use for 25 bucks a month and charges me 50 bucks for the swap over every fall and spring. Porsche wheels are very robust and I haven’t had any issues.

Thanks for all of the input. The car does not have rear steering or ceramics, so 19's should work? in those, what size rims and tires seem to be best?

I put snow tires on my AMG e63 S wagon last winter and it did surprisingly well, also made for a great snow plow

I did these for my 2016 C4S and its unstoppable in the snow. Your going to blow past just about every other 4 wheel drive car, Tesla, Jeep, & SUV. You can also find Rennlisters selling wheel and tyres in the Marketplace.
