Another vote for simply " P O R S C H E ".

Not liking the no-letters look.

Me too. For once it's reminiscent of all Porsche cars from 356 to early 911s and I like history..
Also it helps break up the 991s' giant bulbous ***... Which itself looks tiny compared to the 992's ;-)
I'd drop the model alphabet soup but leave PORSCHE.

I wonder if I'm the only owner that leaves 911 Carrera on the back with pride.

The lettering on the back of my C4S reminds of all the times when I was a teenager in the 60s and 70s, driving in Fort Lauderdale, FL (lots of foreign cars there then and now), and there were those letters on the back of the Porsches around town.

Back then I was driving a Merc 220 (bad used car purchase), then various domestics of no repute, always thought it would be a blast to own a Porsche..

Can't buy back time but you can bring back memories.

Appreciate the posts in this thread, especially the pictures.

I bought a cpo '17 991.2 base model last week. I got it home and finally dawned on me there was no lettering, nothing, on the rear. My wife wants to put the P O R S C H E back, at least. I kind of would like to revert all the way to stock and include the "Carerra 911" as well. I'm still thinking on this. I mean obviously it's a 911; and I kind of like not having to clean around the letters in the rear.

If I go back to stock though, I've searched and am coming up with a company called Renn Part:

https://rennpart.com/product/chrome-...e-script-logo/

Is this the typical place you get the scripts? I'm seeing some "Genuine" Porsche parts options on eBay and so forth but I'm a little leery of ordering blind. Is the dealer an option?

Where would you guys go to get the parts?

^I'd buy from Sunset Porsche or Suncoast Porsche. Whoever had the best total price (parts plus shipping).

And after you buy the script, go to a shop, hopefully an indy, that has the templates for the placement. It seems like such a simple thing to do with a tape measure and eyeballs, but this site is littered with evidence that says that is not the case. Spend a few bucks and use the templates.

+1. Looks a bit weird with no lettering. Both my Porsches just have the P O R S C H E lettering.

I've never messed with the factory style badging on any vehicle.

Theres a thousand and one ways to get clever and personalize your car. Modifying the OEM style badging has to be one of the most boring.

As long as its not chrome, which doesn't belong on a sports car, its fine. Just my .02

When I see a car without badging, I always ask myself, “why did he repaint his car?”

I vote for anything but naked.

Prior 911s (993, 996, 997) looked great de-badged, and could be factory ordered as such. I think the size, shape, and height of the 991 bumper needs a little badging.
