Default Porsche Driving Experience Atlanta

I am heading to Atlanta tomorrow and made some time to stop by the Porsche Center in Atlanta on Saturday. I'll be driving a Turbo and GT3 and seeing how they handle. Looks like rain but still think it will be fun. I'll post pictures when I get back.

At only $17k, the PLP (Porsche Levitation Package) is worth every cent.

Had a great time. The Turbo and GT3 were awesome to drive.

Driving any of the 911s at PEC is a blast. Did the Atlanta in January, heading to PTX Birmingham for the 2 day next week.

Glad you had a good time.

I was there last Friday as well and took out the 911 T. It was fun as hell. We had rain early morning but it dried up once I got my run in at 11 and with dry track I pushed it pretty hard.

Default PLP package

The PLP package is only worthwhile if you have 48 way PRC (Porsche Raised Cow) leather, FGPHS (Full Glass Prisom Hubble Sunroof) and the IBCWDT (Inflatable Blonde Companion Who Doesnt Talk).

Look forward to hearing your trip report - especially which you think is a better bang for the buck. Enjoy!

Also looking forward to the report.

I’m planning to register for a “Mastering the Manual” Saturday morning session as soon as the October schedule opens up. I’ve been driving manuals for 40 years, but never in a car like this (2017 CPO base 911 I just bought).

Current plan is to drive up Friday from Tampa, and spend Friday and Saturday night around the airport. There are a bunch of the usual hotels, are any in particular better or more convenient to the track?

Porsche has a hotel adjacent to the Experience Center that looks fun to stay at.

I stayed at the Solis Hotel next door for a couple of nights when I took the Atlanta delivery. Nice rooms, it was in the process of changing ownership while there in January.

They may give you a discount for Porsche-related stays.

Stay near Piedmont Park or Virginia Highlands and enjoy the city. You don’t want to be near the airport. Just drive or uber to the track.

Indeed, the Solis is now owned by Kimpton. It is a fantastic hotel and a one minute walk to PEC. As someone else mentioned, the area around the airport is not great. But if you're sticking to PEC and the hotel, it is fine. I stay at that hotel every time I go to Atlanta. Kimpton fan 😁

original chickfila dwarf house is like half a mile down the road, not as fancy as the 356 cafe but tasty, and esp neat to be able to order a burger from them
