I never did like those black wheels

So I had them powder coated Platinum Satin. I can't say the process was painless, but now that it's done I'm happy.

Looks good. May I suggest getting red center locks? The 997 ones work. Not that your black ones look bad.

Did you run on spare wheels? No car for a while?

Love it! Did you run into any issues?

No spare wheels, just waited.

Yes, they had to be done twice. The first time they were all different shades. It took 3 weeks total. It was not a good experience. I'm not going to give any names, I'm over it.

Gotcha. Understood. Well they look fantastic, much much better than black.

I just made an appointment locally to get my Carrera S wheels powder coated.

Looks great! I can't wait till this fad for black wheels is over

Not me. I love mine and I think it depends somewhat on the exterior color since Silver or Platinum would not look nearly as good to me. But I agree with the OP's choice for his car; when I ordered my car I did not like the Black CLs so I picked the other ones:

Psorcery - have you put the red 997 center locks on your car? If so, any long term issues?

I forgot to mention that Eric at Bumperplugs.com can paint your center caps to match, or any color you desire.

Bob, I totally agree about the color of the car. Maybe if mine were gloss black I would have liked them better. The first P car that caught my attention was a white 911 with the Carrera S wheels in Platinum. It stuck with me but I didn't order my car, it was on a lot.

Saw the title and thought I’d not like the pic. I’m a huge fan of black wheels. Have been since long before they came into style.

But I do think your mod looks super.

Nice job!

And good on you for not sweating the small stuff.

Personally, my ppf is getting redone. Car is two months young. It was already peeling. But what can you do?

Enjoy the day.
