Welcome. I suggest you take some time and start reading the threads on this forum and look at the HOT FOR SALE thread at the top of this forum when to get an idea of what is out there. You need to do some research first and narrow it down it little since there are quite a few variations, NA or Turbo, Coupe, Convertible or Targa, etc. When I decided I wanted a 991 I read countless pages of threads and I was able to decide exactly what I wanted, and you will learn quite a bit along the way!

I think ~3 year old cars coming off a lease are a sweet spot for value. It's a relatively new car, and in a good spot on the depreciation curve.
I bought a 2015 last year. I'd probably be looking at 2016's this year; last year of the NA engine, which I personally like.
Good luck.

Burning Brakes
I think Sport Chrono and Sport Exhaust were 2 must have options for me.
They will also help at resale time.

For me 991.1 must have:
PDK with Sport Chrono (manual no need for Chrono)
Sport exhaust
18 ways Sport Seats and Sport Plus
Full leather (but not necessary)
must be an S model
991.2
Sport package which included Chrono and exhaust.
Base model is fine
18 ways Sport seats.

options
Sports chrono, sport seats, manual, sunroof delete, S model or higher. PDK seem to be a weak point and sunroof can rattle. The S model with soorts chrono has all sorts of prrformance parts. If you dont want rev match you will need a 2012.5 or 2013.

Must haves for me:
Manual
PSE
Sport Chrono, you get the rev match etc in the Manual.
SPASM
Nice to Haves:
PDCC (personal preference)
X51, wish I could find one of these, I think these are highly desirable as a factory install option
AeroKit (Duckbill version)

A 2012-2015 991.1 would be your best bet for value, value retention and less prone to the headaches and increased maintenance costs of the 991.2's turbo engines down the road.
Also, when you add in the fact that it's the end of the line for the 911's normally aspirated engine experience it makes the 991.1 that much more special as it represents the pinnacle of the 911 design before the trade offs began to really weigh down.
There are NO must have's for options other than what suits you and your needs. A completely base 991 offers more than enough of everything as standard and many of the options are frivolous and add very little to the overall driving or ownership experience.
Best of luck and have fun with your search!
