Default Dealership only repairs?

Hi all,

Is there such thing as a “Dealership Only” repairs? Or can most competent Indy shops complete repairs on our cars such as updates on our cars? And handling all service codes.

Thanks

That is a pretty broad question. A lot depends on the capability of the Indie shop. Some are every bit as capable as dealers and some are not even close.
Do you have a specific repair you are wondering about?

Some software updates under warranty are probably best left to a dealer. I would say anything with PDK is also best left to a dealer.

Many tasks require the PIWIS Laptop. Lots and lots of stuff available only via PIWIS that isn’t available via third-party OBD devices.

AFAIK it is possible for an Indy to have one, but it is a $$$$ monthly lease.

So, they’d have to be an Indy that’s serious about ‘modern’ Porsches.

The Indy shop I use (Pulse Racing in Jacksonville FL) has the same capabilities as a P dealer but they always advise customers to use their dealer for warranty work. As long as you keep records you can use any Indy shop, or even if you do your own work but again, repairs while the car is in warranty should be done at the dealer (if that is what you are asking).
