I love my Focus RS. Hard to believe for $2k you got forged wheels and Michelin Cup 2s. Car is a hoot. Of course, dealing with the head gasket replacement sucked. Hard to believe Ford could mistakenly build almost the entire production run motors with the wrong head gasket. But to their credit they stepped up and replaced the incorrect ones. I've driven 20k miles since the replacement with no issues. I highly recommend an RS if you can find a stock one with low miles and that has had the head gasket replaced or came with the right one. Some of the late 2017s have the right gasket and all the 2018s do.

red wagon
some great other cars. many never available outside the US.
so to redress the balance a europe only car i believe - 2007 rs4 wagon with 6 speed manual, and rather red. perfect for transporting the family
(there is a q3 school run machine, but i dont think there has ever been a photo of that!)
no prizes for guessing which garage was not mine

She's a beauty. I just ordered one with a manual transmission to replace our 2016 M5, also with manual transmission. I think the R is the closest thing we can get in the US to a" hot" wagon with manual transmission...perhaps a tiny version of taylora's red wagon?

the golf r was the only other car i thought about seriously to go with the 911 now the kids no longer fit, the wagon version of course.
they are loverly compact machines and truely fast with it, a great way to get from a-b at speed without being noticed.
chap i know recently bought a kitten for his wife's birthday and followed it up with an 'oh and i got you a golf r as well'. she loves the kitten and he drives the golf all the time. funny that.

My other car is a 2011 Mazdapseed 3. Just had the shop install a KW V3 coilover kit in it to replace the Corksport coilovers I put in myself a few years back. From a fun per dollar standpoint, even after nearly 9 years with the car, I still think it's probably the best expenditure I ever made (it being a very inexpensive car helps with that math). Even now, with 4500 miles of seat time in the new 991.2 GTS, the MS3 still brings a smile to my face almost every time I drive it. And it can carry 5 people w/luggage or two people and lots of cargo while doing it.
I had a GMC Suburban, but it died last October, after 22 years. So I've been casually shopping for a replacement SUV. Leaning towards larger ones (like another Suburban/Yukon XL or a Ford Expedition). But also looking at maybe downsizing a bit to a Toyota 4-Runner. I might even consider going pretty small like a Macan, but then I'm giving up a ton of people, cargo, trailer hauling capacity.
I was actually kind of shopping for the replacement SUV when I got side-tracked and ordered the GTS. Oops.
