Air filters condition after 4 years and 17000 miles.
Time for my 4 year 40,000 miles service. I am planning on doing everything myself except for the spark plugs which I have done at the dealership already. I have a 2015 991.1 GTS which I drive for pleasure on weekends and maybe three times a week. I changed the air filters with the stock filters, not a fan of anything aftermarket. The filters were due for a cleaning even with 17000 miles only but I rather change them. Just a $77 part for both of them.
Just for what it’s worth here are the pics.

Great post. Not too bad at all. So did you notice any performance improvement with the plugs only? And then filter only?? (extra interesting since you did them separately and not together)
edit: second thought, that's not bad at all for 17k miles, but I'm not sure I'd want to do 40k on original filters? Anybody seen those???

I just did my DIY 40k as well. Spark plugs are easy! $121 in parts (plugs, air filters and both cabin filters) and two hours of my time on the weekend. Wasn’t due for an oil change.
My filters looked similar on my ‘13 with almost 20k miles. They were the original.

Nice...did you remove the wheels to do the spark plugs? I've got mine ready to go, haven't really looked at the best procedure yet.

I have centerlocks and I don’t have a lift. I went the dealer route instead. At the dealer they did not remove the wheels but with the car all the way up it’s easier to reach the coils. I am sure it’s easy but I would have to invest in a torque wrench for the centerlocks plus jackstands.
Based on what I saw I would not wait 40.000 miles to change them. 20,000 maximum.

If you don't want to/can't mess around with the center locks then the dealer is the only option. I would never wait the 40k either. The plugs are certainly cheap enough at ~$4 each (if DIY) to do every 20k or less.
