Default New Member - 991 Purchase Question

I have been considering a Porsche for quite sometime, and I'm ready to dive in. I have it narrowed down to two cars, both similar 2013 C2's. One has 48k miles with Sport Chrono. The other has 18k miles, no Sport Chrono, and is $5k more expensive. This vehicle will be driven a couple times a week, just for fun. I am not a speed freak or even really a car guy - just looking for something that is fun to drive with good acceleration.

Questions: assuming PPIs come back okay, is the 30k fewer miles (and no SC) worth the $5k?

Thanks in advance.

Like most of these decisions, it will be personal choice. I tend to value the lower miles and would probably be willing to pay more for a car with low miles. This assumes the pricing for the two cars is fair and condition similar. There will be many here that say get the Sport Chrono. This will depend on your driving interests and style as well as whether you would ever want to do a track day or more spirited driving.

Having owned two 991 C2's with PDK, Sport Chrono is a must with PDK. The 3.4L is a bit light on HP and the SC really makes a difference in the fun factor. I would opt for an C2S, even if I had to wait a year for the car to come into my budget. I loved both my C2's and tracked both of them regularly. They are not much slower than the S at high rpms and they have plenty of power above 5k. Unfortunately, they are underpowered at the lower rpm range.

I would not enjoy a non-SC PDK car as much as I'd the one with PDK. But it is just me. If you are not really into sport driving, you perhaps would be better off with a car with less mileage on it. However, like others said you need to try both and make your choice.
