What's this part left behind after service?
I had my 991.1 GTS in for service at Porsche Dealer this week to have the windshield replaced.
Today when I was washing the car I found this part / cover in the passenger side footwell. I looked but can't tell what it is.
Any help would be appreciated.

Actually that is a trim piece from the Rear View Mirror trim assembly. Makes sense since you had the windshield replaced and they had to remove that whole assembly. Been identified before on RL... https://rennlist.com/forums/991/8047...re-of-dog.html

Ahhh...so they either didn't put it back when they put the rear view mirror back on or put on a new one.
Is it easy for me to get to? To me the mirror looks totally normal.

Just take a look at the DIY RL post link I included in my last post -- should give you some idea of what you are dealing with. But if not inconvenient, I would bring-up with the Dealer Service dept. Hate for you to disassemble and then discover they used a new part....

Take it back to those clowns and have them do the job right.
But then again, when they pull the mirror apart to put that piece back, they will probably forget to put a different piece back.
Never mind . . . .

You will never know if they left it out or used a new one unless you check for yourself.
"I'm sure our tech used a new one, Mr. Simon, but if you'd like to bring it in, we can make sure you're in good shape."
And then after: "There was a new one in there, Mr. Simon. We took the old one you brought in and tossed it out. Have a greatwaste of time day!"

Agree on taking it back...ALSO found and tiny piece of broken plastic on the passenger seat. I'm anally clean with my car so I KNOW that was not there before I took the car in. Wondering if something broke up there and they couldn't put it back in.
Luckily the service manager is a wonder guy and will 1000% take care of me.
BUT...that part number is NOT listed on the receipt so I doubt they put a new one in.
