I wouldn't worry about damage from rain. It's the solar damage from direct sunlight I worry about down in FL. It ages paint, rubber, vinyl, leather, plastic, you name it. UV blocking PPF and window tint film can go a long way towards preventing solar damage. But stay away from many colors - like my Black, which vividly shows every retir rain drop. Silvers are best at hiding dirt, as well as dried rain drops.
981, flat 6, Cayman GTS.... [drool]
Would love to hear your impressions on owning both said Cayman and the 991.2 CS.
my last 3 were well equipped, a 2014 Cayman S, a 2015 911 C2S, and now this 991.2 X51 C2S. I liked the 325Hp Cayman S a lot, but I really missed having a sunroof. And the cabin is a bit cramped, especially for ingress/egress with long legs and big feet in a tight garage with driver's side against garage wall. The 400Hp C2S was even better, roomier, and sounded better, and had a sunroof. But it was not as agile as the Cayman S.
My new 991.2 has every performance option Porsche offers, including PDCC and RAS. I added catless pipes, and the exhaust sounds are awesome - beyond any stock Porsche I've ever heard. It has the grunt of a muscle car, more more than any Porsche I've owned (this one is my 10th). And it is the best handling of the bunch. No perceptible body lean, even with PDCC off. And the cornering grou is tremendous, even with P-Zeros. Best by far.
