Thumbs up iCarsoft POR V2.0 for 991

I did my own oil change and I needed to reset the light. I was going to go to my indy mechanic and ask him to do it.
But then I realized I am due for a battery changed and figured I get something that can also do the whole battery management system reset as well.

The V2.0 model does all that. Just got it in the mail from amazon. I connected it to my windows PC and updated it to the latest firmware.

Steps: connect device (goes automatically into upgrade mode), download upgrade tool and install it, open upgrade tool and the rest should be somewhat self explanatory. You have to enter an email, serial # and UID in the right fields. Before you disconnect, go back to the main menu on the device so it can finish the upgrade process.

Connected it to the car. Went into the service function and hit oil. follow the steps and there it gives you the option to do a few combinations of oil, oil + intermediate, main + intermediate etc.
I just did the oil and it asked me to enter the current date. I should have entered the oil change date (last week. not a big deal) and then it resets it to 10,000 miles or appropriate month/year from the date you enter.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I paid $145, free shipping from amazon.

UPDATE 03/16/2019: Unfortunately the device couldn't do a battery change. Once I entered the 4 required items, it just said communication error; application failed. I tried technical support but they said they will look into it. So in the meantime I am going to return it and buy it later once they figure out what the issue is.
I went to my mechanic and used the PIWIS II tool to do the battery change with the same info I was entering into icarsoft.

I got the iCarsoft POR-II in May of 2017 - this what you mean by "V2.0"? I've used it to reset my intervals and I've never updated the firmware (no Windows PCs in my house).

Same here. Works fine like it came in the box, so far anyway.

I read a lot of people where having issues with the firmware update so I elected to skip that on purpose. Have only reset my oil change so far but that worked no problem.

Forgot to mention, the OBD functionality works on non-porsche cars. So you can read and clear codes for other car brands.

So there are 3 different models out there.
https://www.icarsoft.com/Product/93.html

POR II is current popular model.
POR V2.0 (new version of POR V1.0) = has functions of POR II + BMS + data print.

You might also see a model called P700 V2.0. It's the same as POR V2.0. No differences.

I got the POR V2.0 since it's the same price and has BMS

I believe you mean the "POR II" model...I don't think so.

I'm in The Woodlands. I've had a couple of the LSRPCA folks by to reset oil change status & airbag lights. I actually have my passenger seat out once a week it seems like dicking with the sound system lately, and being able to reset the airbag light is a godsend.

I was just looking at their website and could not find anything related to a specific model or MY. It just referenced Porsche/Cayenne. I want to assume it should work with all MY 911 including 991.2. Most if not all of the typical diagnostic/resets are the same. I'm sure someone with more info will chime in to let us know if that's not the case.

Does anyone have a step by step to reset the brake pad change on the Por II ?? I jus did a complete brake change (rotors/pads) and a oil change but for some reason the hand brake won't calibrate or reset. Do they need to be bedded first as I haven't driven the car yet since the install? The POR II is kind of confusing when it comes to the brake pad resetting .

Any help would be appreciated

Anyone know if the they will be releasing the update for POR II to reset the battery? I bought it last year and it reset the service lights on my 991.2, just now finding out it won't reset the battery. So V2.0 is the latest.

anyone have a step by step for resetting a rotor / pad brake change for the 991.1 ?? POR II has different categories for calibrations and not too sure whats the best process for resetting it.
