Default X51 Powerkit on a non-S 991.1

So I am looking at a Stage 2 with the Cobb Pro-Tune now out on my 991.2 Targa 4:
  • Fabspeed X-Pipe
  • Soul Performance Sport Cats
  • Cobb Tune
  • BMC Airfilter (maybe ?)
  • Fabspeed Sport Headers (maybe ?)
But I also wanted to see if anyone has successfully mounted the X51 kit onto a non-S 991.2 and if not is it because of engine mounts or Porsche just won't install it. Any feedback on the above mods in general are appreciated. Thanks!

I was told Porsche would not install it.

are you just looking for the bigger turbos? You don’t really need the tune if you are getting a COBB tune. I have seen place that sell larger turbos for 991.2.

I put in 991.2 C4S and it said it fits my car.

Not saying this this is perfect for you. Just grab two places that said they make turbo upgrade kits for Porsche. Talk to them you might be surprised.

I took the the easy route and bought the X51 upgrade.

good luck.

Thanks, but with a base C2, the X51 upgrade isn't applicable. Or did you buy the kit just to get the larger turbos?

ask the dealer if you can fit GTS turbos on your base. If answer is yes you can fit x51 on the base. Porsche will not flash the ECU. But you can apply a 3rd party tune.

The other her option is trade in on new vehicle and get features you are looking for. I believe GTS turbos will fit on the base.

i ordered a C4S with x51 installed. I know there are ways to do it cheaper, but I wanted the most power with out modifications.

i ticked every performance option: SC, PSE, PDCC, RAS, PCCB, PowerKit. Love driving the car. After warranty I will start modifying to update the performance.

i might add the GAIC Tune (dealer will support it) but only after I race the car. I want to know if the tune improves my lap time or top speed. If it does not help either it’s a waste of money.

Hello Josh,

Thanks for having us as part of your build with our Sport Cats For your reference, we are actively searching for a 991.2 Base Non-PSE for development of our own unique center muffler replacement. It should be worth the wait if you're not in a rush. I'll shoot you a PM to discuss some of the additional modifications and follow up with you on the sport cats.
