Default cat concerter shell temperature

hello guys any idea whats the higj temperature will be for the 991.1 cat converter? will it be high enough to burn down the rear bumper? like running the car for 10mins on track or 1hr on highway?



i am to self test using s thermo gun later to get an exact temp...

Never saw a cat that big. What is the setup? Does not look very efficient. Is there a heat shield that goes in place over these? If not I would add one.

The catalytic converters are immediately after the header tucked on the sides of the motor. The item you circled is a muffler.

You’ve circled the mufflers. The catalytic coneverters are upstream of the mufflers. Follow the curved pipe from the muffller around its bend and you will arrive at the converters. The converters run much hotter than the muffler. They are likely covered by a head shield as well.

Everything back there is extremely hot...... that's why there's heat shielding everywhere.

What modification did your car have? All stock?
