Default Rennline Floorboard - 991.2?

Anyone installed or thought about installing the Rennline Passenger Floorboard on a 991.2?

your thoughts/review?

I got install instructions and backplate is held by velcro tape (which is good) as no drilling holes, unless you want a permanent install for a track car

Default Ill answer my own post

It serves the right purpose. Should make the paseenpasmore comfortable.
i did a littlw modification as i felt it would tilt forward if the passenger pushed on the top area. You can see in the pictures where i added supoors thwre.

I requested install instructions before I ordered as i did not want a invasive install

It is just held in place with velcro tape

Thought about putting it above the carpet mat but ended with outting behind it for a cleaner look. Plus it see less wear and dirt

I've never thought about doing that, but then again, I never had any of my paseenpasmores complain about comfort.

That looks like an answer to a question that was never asked.

What it is supposed to be for? For the passenger to brace? I just showed to my wife and he said she is very comfy as a passenger.

Dear god - please tell me this works!

Does this his sit on top of the carpet on the floor? Or can this be put on after the carpets are removed not just the mats?

Default Rennline Passenger Floor Board 991.2

Please confirm, the only way I see this install being possible (see photo) is to place the floorboard, including mounting bracket on top of the passenger Porsche floor mat - which seems odd. The Rennline instructions say to install the floorboard bracket to the carpet, not the floor mat. Rennline then says to attach the floorboard to the bracket and slide the floor mat behind the floorboard. But this seems impossible because the Porsche floor mat is much bigger and overtakes the Rennline mounting bracket.
What am I missing?
It's simply not possible to slide the Porsche floor mat under the Rennline floorboard due to the size of the Porsche floor mat.

Was this floorboard installed over the Porsche floor mat?

I have the floor board (passenger) and the track mats for both sides, so I got rid of the carpeted mats altogether. It gives an entirely different look to my cars otherwise pretty bland interior (no leather options other than 14-way seats - it does have yellow gauges though).

I love the look and it's so much better for driving because my feet slide back and forth from pedal to pedal during heel & toe downshifting. I'll be added an alcantara steering wheel with yellow stitching and a matching shift boot.

Because you can see through the holes in the Rennline floorboard to a shiny surface (which must be the metal of the Rennline bracket and NOT a carpet material), I've come to the conclusion that in the photo, the Rennline floorboard was installed over the Porsche floor mat. So, if you want to pull out the passenger floor mat to clean it, you are taking the Rennline floorboard with it since the floor board is velco'd to its mounting surface. Not exactly the ideal situation as you are mounting a somewhat heavy metal floor board and bracket to the upper part of your flimsy floor mat which is just lying in place not fastened to anything.
I think the only way to mount the Rennline floor board to the factory carpet (behind the floor mat) per their instructions, is to modify (cut) the floor mat so that the floor mat can slip in the slot created by the bracket. The other option is to not use your factory floor mat.
The Rennline passenger floor board, in my opinion, is really designed to be used with their race floor mat and not the factory floor mat. Again, using their floor board, with the factory floor mat, will require cutting the floor mat - OR installing it over the floor mat as shown in this picture.

my OEM floor mat fits underneath that floorboard, I tried using their double side tape provided but that didn't work, So I just cut small incisions into the OEM carpet (can't really see them on black carpet), and used black zipties to attach to the Floorboards mounting plate, then I slid the floor mat underneath. Works fine for me over the last year.
