I won't be asking about my 8 track, I know the new cassettes are more flexible and fast forward more quickly - however, the sound quality is nowhere near as good and lacks that visceral feel you get with an eight track. Worse still, look at the size of the cassettes, they look so flimsy compared to my eight track cartridges - none of this matters in another ten years everyone will be fully digital.

Yes, we all know the 8--tracks shift between songs faster, but I prefer the engagement of manually fast-forwarding and rewinding my cassettes.

I'm a cassette man myself, and love that Porsche kept them as standard equipment through the 996.

I have to say auto-stop has been a real game-changer for me, as I sometimes succumbed to the temptation to lightly depress the FF button and listen to the high-pitched screel until the next song even though I knew was probably bad for the tape itself. I do, however, draw the line at auto reverse. There's nothing like the tactile joy of flipping a cassette tape for yourself.

I only use 1-3-5-7 gears. I am saving 2-4-6 for when the others wear out.

Interesting.

I only use 1-4, saving 5,6 & 7 for the Green New Deal.

This forum can stray, but the corvette forum is downright insane. I still go look for some laughs especially in the C8 section, its the funniest.
