Default SC rev match for first gear 2019 911T?

Hey all! I just took delivery of my 2019 911T today with manual trans. Traded in a manual 718S SC.
On my drive home, I couldn't get a rev match in sport or sport plus mode from 2nd to 1st. My 718S would
rev match down to first gear. Am I doing something wrong?

Congratulations from another former 718 owner. I wish that I could answer your question, but I don’t think I have tried shifting into first gear while moving. I would be curious to know the answer. I know the 718 would rev match.

Right.. i frequently down shifted in Sport in my 718S and it rev matched from 2nd to 1st or neutral to first... my new 911T wouldn't do it..it would rev match
every gear but first.

I haven't experienced any rev match on 2-1 downshift, '19 C4S, but then again, if the car isn't at a dead stop and at 5 MPH or a bit higher, I use 2nd, the engine has enough torque to accelerate quite nicely.

I seldom shift into 1st while the car is moving, I find no need for it and doing so avoids stressing the drivetrain. May be useful Racing/tracking, those that do that can maybe clarify.

Can always do it the old fashioned way and double clutch it. Every manual car I've driven though, first is tough to get into if you're going above 5mph. A large part of the reason is due to the large gear ratio jump between 1st and 2nd, so it works the synchros really hard. And I've always had to double clutch it to get it to go into first.

My Carrera T does rev-match into first (2 -> 1). You must be going more than 20 Kph (12 mph) - I think - for this to happen (read that somewhere).

Also need to be in Sport or Sport+ (Or have these selected in the individual section)

Good to know. I rarely go into 1st gear above 5-10 mph. My 718 was my first Porsche and first car with rev matching. By the way, you must be a pilot due to your “location”.

Thank you! It's such an amazing car! I had my 718S SC for 12 months and I loved the car, but after a year with it, the 4 cylinder sound started to bother me a bit and I was wanting a 6 cylinder. I just can't make any sense out of why Porsche did this (leaving the flat 6).

I loved everything about my 718 GTS, but the sound was just noise (to me). I didn’t like driving it too long in sport mode because the noise was amplified in that mode and became tiresome for longer periods of time.

On my 2017 7 spd with sport chrono, I can't seem to get it to rev match, but I could have sworn it worked before. Now that I read this ^^^^ I see that I have to be going faster. I'm going to give this a try!

Does the T have "no lift shift" on the manual?

No. Don't try it. Only the GT3, I believe.

I downshift from 1st into 2nd for two reasons:
1. It sounds good with the rev matching.
2. To practice my heel toe skills. It feels good (when in normal mode) with a good heal-toe shift and it makes the shift easier when you really punch it.

Starting off in second gear will be more stress on drivetrain than matching revs and shifting to first.
