Trademark Infringement??
On the Road and Track website, there's a story on the new Ford GT500 exhaust sounds (it has 4 settings).
It demonstrates the sound from the outside and inside. It's the inside exhaust mode display that looks familiar because the pictogram shown looks IDENTICAL to the one used by Porsche. Did Ford filch it?

The symbol may be the ISO or SAE standard symbol for this function. Same logic as to why all other symbols in your car are common among brands. Examples, headlight low beam, wiper, washer, etc.
