MY18 C2 Dyno Baseline
That sure would be nice of them! I am cautiously optimistic concerning gains. Even if minimal, for the price, and sound bonus, could be a great value mod to toss in. When I take delivery of my T, I plan on quickly adding soul sport cats and bmc filter, so I am definitely interested in your results. like you, I'd prefer to see what gains can be squeaked out with bolt ons before committing to the tune.
lastly, can the taillights be installed without the bumper? ill drive it over without the bumper if so.[/QUOTE]
From my understanding, yes. lights have to be removed in order to remove bumper, as their is a hidden screw behind the lights, that holds the bumper on. However, IIRC, some of the screws for the tail lights go into the body, not the bumper.

well, ill find out. it will look like a wanna be underground racing lamborghini!
Looking at the AMS air filter data, it reduces the pressure drop from 0.275psi to 0.225psi at stock tune power levels and therefore alrflow. Assuming 13psi of boost and 14.7psi ambient pressure, that equates to a pressure ratio change: (13+14.7)/(14.7-0.275) = 1.92 vs (13+14.7)/(14.7-0.225) = 1.91. So 0.01 change in PR. So very little. Therefore, the gain will likely be in the magnitude of a couple hp on an otherwise stock car which is within the variation of dyno run to dyno run. Of course, as power and airflow levels go up, the gain from the air filters will increase. As a guesstimate with a tune running 20psi, that change in pressure ratio may increase to about 0.03 which might bump the power gain into the 6whp range or so. Put on some bigger turbos and maybe the gain goes up to 10whp or so. But on a completely stock car, I'd expect the difference in power from the air filter to be difficult to measure. Will it free up power? Yes, for sure. But it's likely not going to be nearly as much as other mods such as headers and cats.

If you do get a CEL (always a chance running catless) it's a great excuse for a tune, that's when things get crazy haha
No point to remove bumper for install of bypass pipes. Just remove the rear wheels, wheel liners, once you remove the heat shield, the rest is easy. It does help to have to bumper off tho to relieve stress on the downstream O2 sensor as the connector is right behind the bumper/tail light area on each side. Check out this link for bumper removal
