Not a bad video

Why didn't you just removed the rear bumper cover?

Looks like it would have given you that much more room and less fear of beating it up removing components.

Interesting. Thanks for posting. These are really tight working quarters. This is when you want either the factory warranty or CPO.

Hey, that car was a cabriolet. Who needs AC!

-5 right now in Chicago. No AC needed. Will be about -18 next week. Dang.

Is it really common on the 991? Great video BTW. Might come in handy in the future!

In all fairness and respect to the stout & robust 991...about the only "common" repair on our cars is the crazy COVs. Let's hope it stays that way in the years/miles to come. When I saw this thread this AM, I was fully expecting to stone impact damage being the cause to the evap./condes. in the front bumper.

I agree with you, the video will prove helpful to others in the future, probably to other things besides this specific repair.....like the serp belt and throttle body cleaning, just to mention a few.

Good point. Its all down to preference. I can confidently do the job without removing it and causing damage.

As far as A/C leaks go, yes. In my personal experience.
Thanks for watching. More to come.

I can’t access video - says not available on YouTube. Possible to update or send video? I have an AC leak and would love to see video to help self-diagnose if possible.

Thanks,
Kevin

I’m trying to chase down an AC leak right now on my 2013 911. I know the video has disappeared, but if anybody could just give a clue as to what at the rear of the vehicle to chase, that would be great. I can imagine there there’s not much back there other than the compressor and maybe a fitting that leaks.

I did see some posts about the solenoid in the compressor that controls the duty cycle of the being an issue. when I look at my compressor duty cycle on the autel, when the refrigerant is full, it looks normal in terms of pressure and the current being supplied to the solenoid. Mine leaks out in about a week.

I took the front bumper off inspected everything and can’t find evidence of a leak on either side. I also looked in the passenger tire well after removing the liners and everything looks perfect. No evidence of compressor oil and I even did a bubble test on all the connections in the front of the car and in the passenger tire well.

When the refrigerant is full, it blows cold and makes water just like it should. I worked my way from the front and will shortly be looking at the compressor once I remove all the panels.

When you refilled the system there should have been a dye added so you can do a black light test to find any leaks.

Thanks CSK,

Yes, there is some dye in it now, hopefully that pinpoints it.
