Default OEM Windshield

Is there anyway to tell if my 2018 991.2 windshield is original. Nowhere on it does it mention Porsche. Bottom right corner has writing ,but seems like a different company so thinking the previous owner replaced it? If someone could tell me a way to tell if it is OEM Porsche, please do. Thanks

On my 991.1 nowhere on the glass (perimeter of car) is the Porsche name embossed on the glass. Look for the following company or markings on your glass to confirm it’s OEM. My glass has the same markings referenced on the attachment. http://www.lvsglass.com/porsche-windshield-replacement/

Not sarcastic in anyway, but why is this important?

Yeah, are there other signs of possible hidden damage? Otherwise, windshields for these cars do not have chinese knock-offs if that is a concern.

The reason is because I thought Porsche windshields would somewhere mention Porsche as many other car manufacturers do. When I was detailing my car I happen to notice that and thought the previous owner had to replace it and did it with a non OEM windshield.

not to make you paranoid, but the cheap aftermarket windshield on our Cayenne is also St Gobain.

Because when replacing a windscreen that is glued-in which is all of them, the installer needs to remove the old glue. When doing so and since they are in a rush to make more money, they can scrape the body channel the windscreen sits in right through the zinc and into the metal. Bingo, rust forms a year later. Seen it happen in a friend's car.

Not necessarily prevalent (100 fans will know) I caught some rocks on the windshield of my MB 450 GL. Called Safelite and they repaired OEM screen for $1200 MB bucks. Less than a week later driving down a side road at 25 mph I heard a crack and the windshield splintered. Thought for sure install defect. Called Safelite back and they sent out the same guy that did the original install. He found an “impact point” where he said the problem started. I was incredulous. I was driving down a road with no one in front of me and the windshield self destructed. They did not have another OEC windshield windshield available so I went with aftermarket. Lasted until I traded the vehicle two weeks ago. I thought about challenging the BS opinion that it was from an impact but it was compnay car and there was no jazz to go after it.
