Default Looking for Carrera T allocation

Thought I had one last week with European Delivery, just wanted to confirm dates then give deposit.

I got the good news on dates with a “sorry the slot is now sold” email.

Now on the hunt again, going to give it one last try, if anyone has a lead, let me know.

I really want European Delivery, that has been my main problem, dealers are not really enthusiastic about that request.

Thanks!

FWIW: White or Silver, no options, 7mt, Would consider T interior red/yellow.

Try Nick Leader @ Porsche Bellingham, he's well versed in European delivery (he's arranged 2 for me). Tell him Greg L sent you.

That's going to be a pretty tough find at this point. Best thing to do is call around or ask your dealer to see if any remain -- if there is one left, maybe your dealer can trade for it. I wish you luck, please let us know how you do.

Nick was great, but no slot after December.

In fact, he was actually excited about European Delivery.

I would work him in the future, if I can’t get a T, it would be down to a 718 GTS or 992 manual and he would be my first call.

Thanks,

Yes, I gambled a little on this one. Trying to get a Spring trip, also wanted to see what the 992 was all about, TBH.

I prefer the narrow-body, 991.2 instrument cluster, lighter, etc...

There are a lot of T’s at dealers. Well over 100, not sure if I would go that route or not.

Nick and Porsche Bellingham are great, I wouldn't want to buy a car from anyone else.
Bummer he doesn't have any allocation though.

The 991.2 is worlds better than the 992, and you're certainly preaching to the choir on this forum regarding your preference -- and in an honest moment, probably most of the guys on the 992 forum would agree, as well. As for T's sitting at dealerships, there may be a few good ones if you do some looking. But most of them are just bad specs, which is why they're sitting -- bloated specs or specs that otherwise go against the T ethos and make little sense. My recommendation to you would be to find one of the few good remaining specs and ****** it. The T is truly a gem. My favorite 991 -- my favorite water-cooled 911 for that matter -- and I've owned many (and currently own a 991.2 GT3). You can always do a European driving trip and rent a Carrera for a worry-free experience.

I just talked to my SA and getting a 991.2 allocation is almost impossible at this point, and I have asked him for others that I hooked up in the past from here. His dealer is one of the better ones so he could submit an order without an allocation and have it picked up a week or two later; however, that is no longer possible. He also told me that he has had many people asking about 992s but more for the 991s so that should tell you something.

I know in Canada you can't get one anymore...

I agree with the comments above that cars sitting at dealers are spec'd weirdly. Case in point my dealer has one with no RAS, lightweight windows delete and Glass sunroof! So odd.

Here is nice/new T that my SA, and friend, (Javier: jgerena@drivereeves.com) just told me about, and if you tell him Bob Z. from Rennlist referred you he will give you a very nice discount, and ship it to your door: https://www.porscheoftampa.com/inven...aa2a91ks103185

I think if the 992 was a bit lighter, had a new cf roof, or more cf parts like the gt2rs, or had a hud and a nicer, updated interior I would have totally gone for it. But, as it stands, I find the new bloated 992 bleh. Only time will tell.

Yes, I think if the 992 were very different, a lot of people would like it more.

Well stated! The new generation 911 at least for me has always been more appealing. They get heavier and costlier but at least they were better in many ways. With the 992 for me that was not the case, so no 992 for me.

According to my dealer:

They aren't producing the T after April. We can trade for one but cannot build one custom anymore.
