Hey everyone. Quick PDLS+ Question
New to the forum. Currently driving a BMW M4, which is due to be returned at the end of the month and looking to buy a CPO 991.2 C4S.
I searched the forums, but most results are fairly old, so I was wondering what the current status of LED PDLS+ is in the US.
I know DOT regulations limit functionality (same as on the M4), but on BMWs, this restriction can be coded off to allow full adaptive lighting. Is this possible on Porsches?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks. I understand the differences between the systems. I also understand the difference between PDLS+ in the USA and in other parts of the world (it’s limited here by DOT regulations).
My question was not about the differences, it was whether the US implementation could be coded to behave as it does elsewhere in the world (as can be done on BMW, for example).

Don't know about Porsche. But I had an F80 with LED's and got the anti dazzle coded and it was amazing. I would find reasons to drive at night just to enjoy the light show.

I am interested in this thread as I have the PDLS+ LED lights and have yet to see anyone being able to recode the system to follow European specifications.
I'm thinking it must be possible, just need to find someone who has done this successfully.

They're great in US spec, but I hear that they are much better in ROW spec. I also wish somebody would find a way to reprogram them. Sooner or later, somebody will figure it out.

No one to date has been able to figure it out, and if someone does I am sure it will be posted on Rennlist.

The guys on the 992 Forum with the Matrix lighting system are asking the same thing. Not much has changed in the past +7 years.

Canada has now approved them, so maybe the US will happen next. I know that it was under consideration again.

I took a screen shot of the coding that would need to be done using PIWIS. Will try to find. I talked to my whole foreman and he said that coding something like that could goof up something else. I’m going there today so I might bring it up again. Will report back.
