Gee whiz, if it just had to be plugged in, dealer should have just plugged it in for you free of charge. I mean really.

Probably took 10 minutes to remove the door card, and 10 seconds to connect the plug.

Scummy to charge you $220 for that.

Thanks, I am a ways off before I would buy one but it can help others, and I will make a note of it. No use in buying an extended warranty when the car is still covered so I will wait until I am a few months before it expires, while watching mileage milestones as well.

That's funny, I bought an Extended Warranty from Troy for a Tacoma 15+ years ago out of state. Called him 5 years later & he said I had to reside in NY for another one. Maybe that was just for Toyotas.

So you are only getting an additional 2 years/20K miles; Just curiuos why that duration? From what I have seen, longer terms are not that much more & may help with resale...

No, my original factory warranty is up in a month. I bought additional 6 years or 60 k miles plan starting just before factory warranty ends. It seemed to be the sweet spot for the price and amount of coverage I needed. Car has 7400 miles on it. You can get up to 10 year 100k plan with deductibles ranging from 0 to 250. Pricing of coverage starts to go up past the 6 year/60k miles.
Makes no sense to buy coverage while you are under factory coverage but do it just before your warranty ends

What the hell are you talking about?! Jordon has been selling warranties to members and users here for years - I first talked to him about 20 years ago. And he never advertises and has one of the best prices around.

The price of the Fidelity warranty substantially increases once the car is out of factory warranty.

Jordon is the Finance Manager at a dealer (Mossy Motors) that sells Fidelity Warranties. You are not comparing apples to apples - get a second opinion on the price and you will see that the information is absolutely true.

Mike has been a very respected guy among us Porsche guys so your rant ( a new person) really not appreciated. Just after purchasing mine from him too. The price increases with the type of the car, year, mileage etc. What's the mileage on your vehicle?
Michael is as good as it can get, heck he even talked me out of buying one with $100 deductible that was higher than what I actually ended up buying $250 deductible.

Most everyone seems to opt for platinum to get comprehensive coverage particularly for major items like trans, engine.,etc. If no one or few have had a claim, are we all kidding ourselves about the value of an extended warranty??
Check out recent RL thread by Sandwedge who had PDK electronics issue on two different vehicles in a span of several years. Porsche dealer recommended full PDK replacement both times @ about $20k each time. He had Fidelity Platinum coverage both times. Fidelity Platinum paid in full less the $250 deduct both times.

I recently reached out to Mike about a warranty. Mike promptly answered all my questions and had a very competitive quote. While I ultimately decided to not purchase a warranty, his customer service was very good, and it was a positive experience. I will contact Mike again for future needs as I historically trade up when I can afford it. Just keep in mind that maintenance costs for turbo cars are different than NA vehicles and that will be reflected in the price of the warranty.
