Yes, most will fit but with the suspension droop I could not store a car under it.

Wow - you guys are great. Some really information here!

Some info in response to other posts. We live in Central Vermont. Definitely putting radiant heat in the slab with some floor drains. Plan to heat the space to 45-50 degrees in the winter and may install a supplemental heater to warm it up quickly if needed.

Planning to install a compressor and run water lines to the garage, as well as, some tool cabinets etc.

I am going through this now with my architect. We are at a bit of a standstill, because I want a BIGGER garage, and eliminate the kitchen. But the wife thinks we need a kitchen for resale. Feel free to re-use my plans:

The kitchen seems excessive. Not having one frees up valuable car space and creates yet another excuse to drive one of the cars for take-out.

Agree. Plus my wife is a bad cook, but you didn't hear that from me!

My friend asked me other day, "Hey LexVan, does your wife make a mean shrimp risoto? I said, 'no, but she makes a mean reservation'!" That's when the fight broke out.

LOL.

I've always liked cooking, and thus did more of it, than the various women in my life (ex-wife, ex-GFs) and expect that will likely continue with all the future exes as well. I even host Christmas dinner for the family (Beef Wellington). Unfortunately, I'm at a point where my doctor prefers that I stick to mostly nuts and berries, the bastard. So my kitchen goes largely unused.

I only have a humble two car detached garage. For which I've been taking renovation ideas from the awesome "show your garage" thread. So I should follow my own advice, rip out my mostly unused kitchen and dining room, and turn them into additional garage space. Although the aforementioned doctor would probably suggest a gym instead. The bastard. LOL

Stackers are awesome but they ROB the garage of light. An airy space becomes a dark cave, so make sure you plan you lights accordingly. Directly above the top of where the stacker will be is not a great idea. I found that out the hard way.... Other than that, You can never have too many electrical sockets or air lines (wall plumbing).

Note on the 4 post: Stock, it is ideal for stacking, oil changing, and not much else - unless you buy the sliding jacks that go in the middle, then you can do pretty much everything a 2 post can do, and as a benefit a 4 post is movable if you want to redo your layout, and it stacks cars for long term storage which a 2 poster should not....
