Cup holder jammed

Hello,
So one of my cupholders (driver’s) is jammed and won’t pop out. Does anyone have tips or instructions to release it? Thank you!

The entire cup holder assembly just pulls straight out of the dash.

Might try pulling it out completely to see what the problem is.
