Default My new Car

Hi Everyone, I sold my 04 C2 last week and we were lucky enough to find the beauty last Saturday. I'd like to change out the brake pads and wondered what everyone likes for dust free; yes I'm the guy that cleans the rims inside and out EVERY time I go out. So looking forward to photographing this as it's a serious hobby of mine. Thanks for your thoughts, Ralph

Lovely car! Congratulations and welcome to the 991 family.

I would consider ceramic coating the wheels and using brake dust repellent instead of messing with the brake pads. If your heart is set on replacing the pads then I assume you are thinking about ceramic pads. I did it to my 997 and regretted it because of the loss of braking power.

Is that an AMG E wagon behind your pork?

Guards_red, you mentioned ceramic? Does the car come with brakes of another material?

I have PCCB's on my TTS and they are dust free and the braking is superior. But the cost to this conversion is very costly.
I would ceramic coat your wheels, Gyeon makes a great coating for wheels that makes for easier cleaning. Look at pads with less dust creation but don't give up braking performance.

Yes sir they do... Judging by the photos I believe your car came with standard brakes.

There are different materials but have to be careful which one you use. I'm not a brake expert and my opinion is as good as anyone's.

I recommend you to start by reading this article: BRAKE TECH: WHY CERAMIC BRAKE PADS?

This is what I installed in 2014, and still very happy with both the performance and the low dust.

I installed the same thing - happy with the braking power, but a bit disappointed still with the amount of brake dust. Anyone try the Ceramic Posi Quiet Centrics?
