Default Front and Rear Essex Designed AP Racing Radi-CAL Brake Kit in Development for 991

Hello Gents,

Our Essex Designed AP Racing Radi-CAL Competition Brake Kits have been a tremendous success on the 991 GT3. You can see lots of details on those kits along with tons of positive feedback from owners in this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...t-finally.html

I wanted to let you all know that we are now working on a kit for the 991 GTS/S/T/Base. It will likely be most similar to our kits for the 997 and 981, which can be seen in the links below.

https://www.essexparts.com/essex-des...mm-997-981-718

https://www.essexparts.com/essex-des...cp9449-365-997

The AP Racing Radi-CAL is by far the most advanced caliper you will find, and the Radi-CAL was used to win Le Mans on the 911 RSR this year. Compared to other options on the market, our calipers are stiffer, lighter, don't require caliper removal to change pads, have a million pad options, ventilated SS pistons, Anti-knockback springs, spare iron disc rings are less expensive vs. competitors...and a laundry list of other features not available elsewhere. Our kit for the 991 will also most likely fit under 18" wheels.

Here are some AP-equipped 991s to provide an idea of what they'll look like on the car:

Just snapped this one at SEMA

Not a 991, but I love this pic!

We believe that our 718/981/997 kits will fit perfectly without any modifications. We are test-fitting a car to confirm in three weeks. If we confirm that fitment, we could ship a front and rear kit immediately at that time. We have everything here on the shelves to do so. If we need to design and manufacture new components, that could take anywhere from four to eight weeks. That said, with the impending holidays it could take a little longer than that if we go back to the drawing board. Thanks for your interest.

Update...final measurements will be taken this Friday on a 991 GTS. We will move into production immediately thereafter, so probably about 6 weeks until we can ship the final production kits. Thanks.

Any chance those J-hook rotors will be available for the stock 991S brakes?

Did we get a confirmation the 718/981/997 kit fits perfectly on the 991.2 Carrera?

It's something we talked about...doing an upsized 350mm disc. I need to reopen that discussion with engineering. We had this on our development list but it kept getting pushed down for other projects. I'm going to put it back to the top. Thanks for mentioning it.

Our engineering director is taking final measurements on a 991.2 this Friday. I believe there may be a couple of small design tweaks, but we should be shipping kits for the 991 base, S, GTS, and T within the next 6-8 weeks or so...just in time for spring!

Any updates? Your website indicates good to go for 991.1 (2012). Kits will fit 991.1 and 991.2?

We test fit our system on a 991.1 GTS the other week, and they are available immediately!

We believe that our system will also fit the 991.2 properly, but we need to verify on a car. If anyone is interested in letting us check fitment on their car, we can offer a hefty discount. Thank you very much.
