Carrera T - Gaurds Red or Black and Rear Axle Steering - Can’t decide
#17
Red or Black: I am not a fan of red as my car so I would go black, Especially if you are not obsessed about having the showroom shine all the time, i think the clean day bang on a black car outweighs the other many non-clean days. I think black is the best color on the day of a wash.
RAS: I dont have my T yet but i included it my build because what i read was many liked/loved it and didn't matter for some. I did not see any downside of getting it. Except some weight consideration that was irrelevant in my decision. So for the price, i did not want to regret later.

Help! I’ve had a number of Porsches in a number of colors. I am leaning to Gaurds Red Carrera T with black glass sunroof (no rear axle steering) but wifey thinks Red is too flashy. Dealer has a black one as well WITH rear axle steering. First question Gaurds Red vs Black? Second question is Rear Axle Steering a must have on the Carrera T? I know this is a personal decision but I am on the fence and can’t decide...
Red's my fav color, but I wouldn't to a high contrasting black sunroof with red (just me).
On the RAS... one factor, depending on your location, is you are limited and can't get 19" wheels (i.e. if you wanted to get a winter set).

Red, PCCB,s, 7sp, optional leather, speed yellow, interior matches brakes. Corporate colors of DHL, major international air freight co. Got the idea from their Indy 500 race car this year. Car IMO looks great. Blacks looks great clean but is tough to keep it that way. PCCB NO brake dust and appearance great.

I'm doing black, RAS, PCCBs, etc... Going to be a pain to keep clean? Sure, but who cares -- it will be beautiful! I have a feeling I'll do a wild color wrap at some point as I intend on keeping this car for a long time.
Good luck on the choice!

I agree, I noticed it when I made my first 90 degree turn as I was moving along. From that moment I was not ordering my car without it. There are probably some that it will not matter as much as it did to me for $2k there was no question.

Nah, if it was not an option I would have bought the car and been happy, and I will not have access to great roads here down in Florida. One must drive a car with and without to see if it is worth the money.

OK. Everyone should be made aware - everybody is different. My color preferences, in order, are Racing Yellow, Guards Red, White.
What am i driving? A new 2017 BLACK Endurance Racing Edition 911 Carrera S, lurched new with new car warranty punched June 28, 2018.
Why Black? Because Black also looks great, and i bought it at a big discount. And it hit every one of my hot buttons for options:
If these options above appeal, you may not be able to find a new one like mine, but there are a few very-low mileage used ones, Red, Black, and White - most with 6 year CPO warranty - out there for sale, at prices competitive with a new 911T.

Full leather, ventilated seats, entry and drive, sunroof, parking sensors, 20" black Turbo Design wheels, SC, PSE, RAS, PDCC and SPASM (-20 mm), Black LED headlights, and seatbelts in Guards Red. These options were crucial for me. The Porsche factory test team said that just the addition of the RAS and PDCC lowered the Nordschleife lap time by 30 seconds. That is huge. Plus the reduced turning circle with RAS is so very useful. The included Bose on my 911 model was a nice to have.
A big plus - i was able to add the X51 PowerKit to my S for a very reasonable price after the easy sale of my S turbocharger take-offs, to enjoy 450 Hp and 405 ft-lbs of torque with full new car factory warranty.
OK. Im spoiled, but i recently bought my new 911 at a big discount, with every box on my wish list checked, for about the same price as a well optioned 911T.A big plus - i was able to add the X51 PowerKit to my S for a very reasonable price after the easy sale of my S turbocharger take-offs, to enjoy 450 Hp and 405 ft-lbs of torque with full new car factory warranty.

Got a Guards Red GTS awaiting pickup at Emden so my vote is always for a non-black/white/grey sports car. Never driven a car with RAS but I ordered it on mine based on the many positive reviews it's gotten.
