Add me to the ‘never take a car to Rusnak for service’ camp. Semi-direct experience from a decade ago. Seems like there’s been no improvement.

Same experience with me with the same SA at Rusnak. I’ve never taken my car back there although they’re less than 5 miles from my house.

Get it fixed under warranty, sell it, buy something you like. The QF isn't well regarded from a reliability perspective, this is well understood, well reported and mostly left on the shelf. Have a look at the used market. Shop around let us know what you come up with. Good luck.

With as many lies and bullsh*t from them, it really came home today. The Rusnak Porsche General Manager Mark called me along with the Porsche factory representative, Kerry West. And the service manager Rai. In unison they stated there are no new transmissions available that will fit a 2015, and never will be. That's it.

I'm already pissed because I have been flat-out lied to 3 times thus far. I'm screwed and that's it. I asked again. No new transmissions, right? Nothing in Germany? I'll wait.

The answer is no. They don't exist.

After stewing on this a couple hours, I decided to call as a customer to BUY one. To find out if there were any, I had to supply my VIN.

Numerous dealers confirmed there are FIVE in Germany. "Are you sure?" I asked. Yes. How do I order? Credit card. They sent me a qoute and I even got two of them to send me a screen shot of their inventory system, along with the estimated shipping time. Here's what one dealer sent. New price on top, remanufactured on the bottom
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The core for the remanufactured transmission cannot have accident damage to it. If it does the core would not be acceptable. Porsche does have a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty on either transmission. Labor is only covered if it is installed at a Porsche dealership. Track use would void this warranty, DME data may be required. This quote does not include shipping charges which may be substantial.

I feel very fortunate that my local dealer is well regarded. This sounds like a nightmare.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that there are even Alfa dealers that mimic Rusnak. If the dealer management doesn't care about the customer, you will have a sucky experience.

I know some are offering at least 2 years of coverage on a replaced part.
The general rule is that parts replaced under warranty are warranted for the duration of the warranty they were replaced under. So, the re-manufactured tranny's warranty expires when the car's bumper-to-bumper warranty expires. For example, I got a free battery replacement on my BMW M4 at year 3. When the same battery failed 6 months after the end of the 4th year, I was on my own. Sucks, but it is what it is.

Sounds like the OP should unload his P-car and move on to some other brand that has a dealer network closer to where they live.

Highly unlikely for replacements under factory warranty. Even the extended warranty policies generally have a provision allowing them to insist on re-manufactured replacement parts.

Did you ever call PCNA?

Why not have the car towed to another dealer, that is not horrible, as you & others have said this one is?
The extra drive time will be worth it to not be lied to & have incompetent people fixing your car.

Maybe you can get PCNA to pay for the tow?

Also you can check into the CA lemon law so, you will be ready as soon as your situation qualifies.

Good luck.

There are plenty of replacement transmissions available. Pay for one if you're at fault if it was defective ask for a replacement. This is easy.

It WAS the Porsche rep that was on speaker phone with the Rusnak General Manager and Service Manager. That's the point. The apparent ease that all three of them had in telling me an absolute lie.

Rusnak lied a total of 3 times during this debacle and 1 instance of extreme "puffing" by saying the transmission is 100% new inside while Porsche documents show they re-use as much as possible (as long as the parts are within spec.) That of course could mean 100 miles away from being out of spec.

What's obvious to me is that a company that is supposedly a high end brand, and their dealer, behave like a East Los Angeles dirtbag used car lot.

I'm more interested in hearing about how high end electronics are a rip off. I used to laugh at friends who would drop serious coin just on their cables. One time I had actually convinced myself I could hear a difference.

Other p-car dealers are not much better. I have more pleasant experiences at the Mazda dealer than I do at the Porsche dealer.

This is precisely why I started doing my own maintenance for simple things. My car was 2 years old when I bought it and Porsche dealer techs already had mangled panels and trim when doing general service.
