New Turbo S Cab or Targa 4GTS
Having owned many coupes from different manufacturers I now have the urge for an open air experience.
I have the opportunity to pick up either a new 2019 Turbo S Cab or a 2019 Targa 4GTS.
I have had very fast exotics before so speed is not the deciding factor.
I am seeking the car that is more engaging, has better stock exhaust note and offers the most fun, open air driving experience.
Having a difficult time deciding and would appreciate your input as to why you feel one is more desirable than the other.
Thanks

As a Turbo S owner and former TT cab owner I would vote TTS. The cars are just that far beyond the normal range. So capable to drive and faster without comparison. Add a small tune and exhaust and you will be dialing up warp speed in an amazingly capable daily drivable Porsche.
This is my 5th Porsche TT car. Superb cars.

Let me say this... for $1500 you could add a tune to the GTS which would make it faster than the stock Turbo. From a cost perspective, the Targa would still be less expensive and faster than the stock Turbo.
However, if you added a tune to the Turbo, you would be significantly faster, but significantly more expensive too..
If cost is no object then I would say the Turbo. If value or resale has any impact on decision then Targa.

In my case, driver engagement, stock exhaust note and open air fun take precedence over speed.

Some argue that the targa is the most beautiful 911 shape. If speed is not an issue, consider the 991.1 as the open top and NA exhaust note is quite the experience. Good luck on your decision!

Better looks - Targa
More engaging - Targa

I’m not sure why people think the Turbo and Turbo S cars are so much more expensive to run or maintain than other 911 variants. The difference is negligible, especially in the 991.2 era.
For a true open air experience, you can’t beat the Turbo S cabriolet. It’s fantastic. It’s also great with the top closed - it’s almost as quiet as a coupe. The only downside of buying a Turbo S is the exhaust note. The factory exhaust is quiet.
I own a Turbo S cabriolet, and I’d buy one again given the choice you face. Good luck with your decision.

It really comes down to personal preference. I do not like cabs at all, Turbo or not. On the other hand, I love the Targa body style and would seriously consider upgrading my current C2S to a Targa GTS if a good opportunity came available.

That's a great suggestion. Open air plus that screaming NA engine?
Getting your hands on one is the challenge, but if $ isn't an issue then it's probably going to come down to how much additional dealer markup you are willing to pay.
