Damn acorn cut my tire
Went for a drive, get how and see something stuck on the rear tire, part of acorn with a sharp edge cut into the tread, WTF? Where the hell did those from. It put a small 5/16” cut in the tread, about 2” from the sidewall. I will assume no issue but very odd.

Some people pay actual money to deliberately have small cuts made in their tires. Now, instead of paying for sipes you can just drive over piles of acorns!
Kidding aside, I hope it's not a big deal. Maybe post a photo and let the experts here weigh in on whether it's serious? Couldn't hurt.

A tire pro would complain about damage to the shoulder of the tire. Are you running Pirelli or Michelin? Interesting to see which of the two compounds reacted that way.

Ouch looks much worse. I love squirrels but this is completely freaking random, never heard of such a thing, I am gonna be really pissed if I have to replace a $300 tire with 2400 miles on if due to a F-Ing nut on the road, seriously?

Yeah this sucks it’s much closer to the shoulder than I thought. This really blows, did I say $300 um, nope the tire is $370 plus R&R this will be close to $500 over a Flucking nut. I will wait for others to chime in not sure if it can be repair or will require replacement.

it should be fine. maybe pour some crazy glue in it so you don't get other chips to get in it.

It closed up a bit since I took that photo right after I noticed it this morning. It’s 1.5” from the sidewall, perhaps 1/8” to 3/16” deep.

spray some soapy water on it - if no bubbles carry on as usual

A tire with a cut that close to the sidewall cannot be repaired. If its leaking, then a new tire is in order. If you have Tire Hazard Insurance, that will cover replacement only if there is a puncture.
