Default Sunroof whistling.. Oh no!

I'm a tough critic on everything and mostly myself.. This I cannot stand for. I bought into Porsche due to supreme build quality. IMO Porsche has the highest build quality compared to any other brand bar-none. However Porsche failed me here.

I'm sad to say that around 90mph I had an annoying whistling sound which was really loud. I did a double and triple take. "What's this noise?" I asked myself. I've never heard a sound like this from a 991 and I've driven dozens with sunroofs at triple digit speeds.

I opened and closed the sunroof multiple times. Each time I opened it the whistling went away. Each time it closed (slide and tilt) the sound came back.. Oh hell no. I pushed up on the glass while it was closed and the whistling got louder. When I let go of the glass, the whistling came back.

I jynxed myself in the sunroof thread when I stated the sunroof is sealed tight. After 20K+ miles in dozens of 991s with sunroofs, it's safe to say I'll never buy a 911 with a sunroof again.

Why not just get it fixed? The problem is atypical. Once in a while something goes wrong on any car.

Why not just a Cab or Targa?

It's rare for a 911 sunroof to make noise. I'd just get it fixed.

My waterpump started weeping. That's it- I'm never buying a watercooled 911 again. Once bitten...

First its not supposed to do that. Sounds like an adjustment not a rebuild. Just have it fixed.

Sorry OP, but what the heck is "supreme build quality" anyways? I mean, you are talking about a mass-produced automobile, not a Jaeger Lecoultre Hybris Mechanica Grande Sonnerie watch (google it), right? Now, of course for a car you spent six-figures for you do expect something better than a Chevy, I absolutely agree. But a "whistling" noise coming from a surface of your P-car, just get it looked-at and save the complaints for something more worthy (like engine fires, or PDK failures....). When I first read this an image came to mind of those "people" who complain about their mocha espresso latte not having enough foam.... in this case sticking their finger into the foam and claiming that "look, there is more foam than when I pull my finger out". LOL
