Default Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's!

Just got these bad boys installed on my .2 GTS in OEM sizes.. I don't know if these are even broken in yet, but after 40 miles on these I can EASILY call these an improvement over the OEM P-Zeros.

Simply put;

The front end is definitely pointier.
Mid corner grip is greater and the slight wobble the P-Zero's used to give me is gone.
1st gear traction is improved over the P-Zeros even though my Cobb tune still spins the tires.

I set the tire pressures to 31fr/35rr HOT on comfort setting and the ride is smooooth. I'd preferably go with standard but I get all these warning and lights on my dash if I uncheck "comfort pres".

If you are debating these tire, my opinion is GO and get them!

I ordered these off ebay as they were $300 cheaper than any local shop and I saved on tax.. The rears are N1 and the fronts are regular. You can see in the photo's that the N1 gets the lip protector and the fronts regulars have no lip protector.

Is there any difference in compound? I was quite happy to see I got N1 rears.

Are you on stock alignment?

My rear P-Zeros were nearly bald on the inside for the REAR but fronts had even wear and still more than half tread life available.

Nope, currently have -2.5 front, -2.0 rear, plus have PDCC whichs seems to reduce lean making my current camber even more effective.
very even tire wear on the track. Now my tracking is on race tracks, no 0-60 stuff ( which might give you the inside rear tire wear.
I burn my fronts way before the rears,,,,,

Agreed. I got a set for my .1 GTS that I track a lot. They’re holding up well to the abuse and they are plenty comfortable for the street.

Michelin I find are better than the P0. I hear the cup2s are a bit slick in the wet. Glad my GTS came with Pilot Sport 4S which I think is a superb everyday tire.

I would do nasty things to have a circuit track near me and not these amateur orange cones people like to lay out... Those are sweet alignment specs though.

I must admit that I had a small leak on my rear left P Zero so I took the car out to some deserted open fresh road and had my fair share of drifts/powerslides.

You're right, Cup 2's are a no no in the rain unless you want your butt cheeks clenched. Luckily it never rains here. The 4S is a solid tire which is better than the Pirelli.

Cup 2's a lot better than Originals for sure. The best alround tyre. However, when really pushed hard at the track, I feel the sidewall is still a little soft. When these are worn out, I want to try TrofeoR's. Theya re only an 80 treadwear, whereas Cup 2's are 180 tread. For comparison, 4S are 360 tread. (Now I understand why a cayman melted the 4S at the track on the first day.) 4S is a street only tyre.

the straight sidewalls of the cup2s make the car much more aggressive and nice looking than the Pzeros too IMO

I had these on my Ford Focus RS. The dealer specced it that way and I would have gone without them if I had the choice. Now I dream about them when driving anything else, the best tire ever. After a spirited drive, my finger would stick to the tread.

Over $300 cheaper than what discount tire and the dealer offered.
