Default Hey COBB Tuning! Get in here! 991.2 Questions and Feedback.

Firstly, I and others here are very happy customers with your services. I appreciate the hard work you guys put into pumping these AP's out.

After a couple thousand miles switching between the two maps, I have a some questions/feedback if you don't mind kindly addressing.
  • First and foremost, is there an ETA on stage 2 maps?
  • How about 100 octane and/or E85?
  • Will we be able to have full scan tool capabilities (clearing codes)?
  • Is there an ETA on having tuners create custom dyno tunes?
The beauty of Porsche is that everything works, and works well. There are no gimmick performance features. That means with RWD cars, they launch like a bat out of hell with little to no wheelspin.. This is how the GT2 achieves sub 3 second 0-60 and RWD S/GTS models have pulled 3.1-3.3 0-60 times stock..."Go buy a 4S or an AWD variant" is not an answer to myself and others. It's nonsense.

With that said, after the COBB tune my 911 has lost it's best in class launch control... Meaning my car spins tremendously on launches, even on on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's on 35 psi hot pressures. On P-Zeros it was completely useless. I'd like to get that brutal launch control back on my 991.2 GTS.. For this I propose a boost by gear feature or simply limiting boost/power in 1st gear to stock levels or slightly higher. I'm not sure if this is within your capabilities or not but it sure would be nice. The car would definitely be quicker if we weren't sitting there spinning like an old school muscle car.

Again, I just would like you to know that I am indeed a happy customer and I'm not trying to bash your company in anyway. After coming from other platforms where I've used the COBB AP it sure does feel like this one for the 991.2 is a beta version.

I encourage others to chime in with questions/feedback.

Thank you for your time.

What is the first code that I have?

Is the second code attributed to my BMC filter?

Mod list:
Cobb AP
BMC filter
Headers and Bypass pipes.

Strange code???

What's causing this?

CEL's come and go. Sometimes for days.

I expect e85 options will be by cobb protune, once they get their updated tool out.

And can you please comment on the status of an AP that will work without removing the ECU. Is it on the agenda?

My installer was able to clear codes using the Cobb Handheld immediately after tuning.

I cannot speak for Cobb, but you can probably bet that the answer on being able to crack the ECU without sending it in will be NEVER.

P1100 is not being caused by your BMC air filter. I have the BMC filter and was getting P1100 and which gave me the same concern as you. I let Cobb know about it and they did some digging and found an issue in their code and sent me a s/w revision which cleared the P1100. Contact Aaron at Cobb and get him to send you the new file.

Oh, I didn't see this thread. I had just started a COBB Stage 2 thread. Great minds. You see COBB, we need stage 2 lol.

Psorcery I would have thought it was the Cat bypass causing a cell. Please let us know what it turns out to be.

Cool. I have read of others having intermittent cells with 200 cell cats. (No COBB tune).

I have never had a cell so far. In order of Mods, I went IPD Plenum, AMS Intercoolers, COBB Tune. Next is Headers, and then 300 cell Akra cats. (I hate cells).

0 cells!!

I've got bypass pipes with the 02 extenders and it gives me an intermittent CEL. Well at least I thought so until I saw this code.

LOL, I understand your bypass is 0 Cells, but you have CE Lights. (I'll put up with 300 Cells to have Zero CEL, and no smell. ) That should be a tag line for Akra cats. 300 Cells, for Zero CEL (lights) and Zero Smells. LOL.
