Default How to turn off stereo

For the life of me I can't figure out how to turn it off! I mute as soon as I turn the key on since it seems like it resets every time I lock the car. I've tried every combo of comfort entry mode, memory button on the door, different keys, etc. I just want thing completely off. Any ideas?

Oh and the AC too.

Do you have the memory function on the door? If you do, try turning off the radio and AC and store to key.

I do. I didn't know how to turn it off until I read Harry's post above. Thanks Harry!

The AC doesn't seem to be recording when I press the memory function on the door. It comes back on.

Can't comment on the radio, but the AC definitely gets stored to the key when you press the SET button then the key icon button on the door.
Please confirm, Guards Red

No sir, I've tried it exactly how the manual directs me with no luck. The rest of the settings do store as expected.

You cannot set the AC to be off on start up. A Porsche quirk.

I believe that is incorrect or at least that is not what happens in my car. You CAN turn the AC off for start up but you CAN NOT turn off the FAN for start up. Start your car and press the AC button to turn it off. Restart and just the fan will be on at the last fan speed and temp you had chosen.

When you use the Set Key, it does store your settings. But you have to finish the Set Key, associating those settings with the key you are using, by locking the car with that key near the drivers window when you exit. Then it knows which key you want to set. Otherwise it forgets your settings, and you have to do it over and over again, getting no memory set.

Same here. No matter what, radio and AC come on at startup. It's driving me ****** crazy and is one of the reasons I'm selling my 991 and going back to DD'ing my 993. Somehow the Porsche engineers decided to make a million things adjustable on the car, except for radio/AC. It's unbelievable that on my $130K car I can't control the radio and AC. Pure contempt for the customer.
