Default what now - pitted wheel arches

so...I put new wheels on that required spacers. I didnt realize what a beating the wheel arches would take from rocks because of the spacers

The damage is not extensive but about 4-5inches of pitted paint from rock chips. its really not noticeable unless the wheel is turned while parked and/or you know its there
  • do I repaint that small area? seems excessive
  • touch up the area just to stop corrosion from any potentially exposed metal?
  • how do I protect it from further damage ? has anyone used a DIY PPF thats sold in strips just to cover this area?

Again it seems as if I'm plugging my thread in a few others but...

I have large chunks of paint missing in my wheel wells.. I'm on the same boat as you right now. Definitely do not hit those areas with a pressure washer of any strong force as I've seen more chunks fly off.

Have the area repainted, then get some PPF film and cut strips to cover area. Not hard to do just take you time and let the paint cure before applying film.

When you touch up these areas, you need to remove the loose paint. Chunks of paint coming off is a good thing. A pressure washer won't remove sound paint. It only removed paint where there was a chip in the paint from a hard impact of a piece of stone. That allows corrosion to spread under the paint. Was this an aluminum or galvanized steel fender?

have a experienced body shop do the repainting, buy film on ebay and cut whatever shape you want or have a shop cut pieces to fit

good perspective....re: your question, I guess I dont know the definitive answer. its a 991 C4S. I thought it was aluminum in front (and door) and steel body quarter panels in the rear? all 4 quarters/wheel arches are affected

Front fenders are aluminum, Rear Quarters are Steel. Rear bumper is ABS.

Meh - shows the car has been driven. I don't worry about mine, just go faster.....

Pics? Welcome to the aggressive offset club. Gonna kick up more little bits here and there. But you notice the much nicer stance far more, and from all distances.
