What does this do?
Guys I have a 991.2 Targa 4S with PSE as part of the powerkit.
See attached pictures. This metal piece was hanging of the muffler. I removed it and noticed other side same secured with a bolt that most of loosened and fell off on the side that came apart. This metal piece just seems to secure itself around the mufflet but doesnt secure to anything else. Is this for noise or vibration reduction?
Thanks
John

Strap for rear muffler. This is what connects it to a metal hanger attached to the car. If you get under the car int he back, you can see where it attaches, directly above muffler. If I recall it tightens with an Allen bolt Wrench. Just position it so the tightener is in the same position as the drivers side strap.

Yup and you seem to have lost the piece that tightens it down. I'm sure a dealer can it the part for you so you can put it back on and tighten it down...

Clamp - Main Exhaust Muffler
The item is one of two main clamps for the main exhaust muffler. It appears the bolt that secures the clamp vibrated loose because someone failed to tighten them. (See - note below)
I believe a set (2 pieces) runs about $45 bucks at the Porsche Parts Department. Both clamps are strapped around the muffler and part # 13 which is the “Support Bracket” for the main muffler.
BTW: Refer to your picture where it shows the Clamp on the left side of your muffler; the bolt is loose, so I’m guessing someone forgot to tight the bolts on both clamps.
