I recently found out that my 2017 991.2 GTS has the inconsistent idle rpm. Normally, it sticks with 600 rpm, but sometimes, it also reaches to 800 rpm during idling. When it is in sport or sport plus mode, I know the rpm increases to 800, but in my case, the rpm reaches to 800 rpm in normal mode. I asked about this to Porsche service department in Atlanta and they state that it is normal thing, but I could not find this type of incident in other 991.1 or .2 cars. Is this normal? What is the normal mode idle rpm on other cars?

yes depends on mode as well in my 991.2

I know the rpm changes between the modes but for my car, sometimes, the rpm is 800 in normal mode.

My '17 S with X51 PowerKit (GTS engine) idles at 800 in Normal, and 850 in Sport and Sport+. But cruising in town at a steady 35-40 mph, it speeds up just a bit going from Normal to Sport. But it actually slows down just a little when switching from Sport to Sport+, and the boost goes up from 0 to 1 psi.
