Looks like the shape and function of the new 992 are now becoming more set in stone as Porsche inches closer to debut and release in 2019 sometime. Latest Soy shots shown here show a vehicle that pays homage to the legacy of old as one wouldn't expect them to stray too much from the old 911 formula but looks like they are incorporating more of the current lineup's new features into the 992 from the Panamera, the Cayenne, and the 718. What say you guys on the new look and direction? Rear end looks a bit busier than before not sure what to think of it...like I said its a Panamera lite in a sense aesthetically. Also is it just me or is this new 992 a bit longer than the current cars? Anyway who's definately gonna upgrade now based on these pics from their 991.1 or 991.2? I can see maybe if you have a 997.1 or 997.2 or say 996 then the choice becomes much easier.
So who's a taker now sight unseen for a 2019 992 Carrera?![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Guys from other car marques must just laugh at the speculation around a new 911 introduction....

^^^ No, the Corvette board was much worse than this prior to the launch of the C7. People were posting "leaked photos," artist renderings, Photoshopped images by 3rd graders and there wasn't a single image that was remotely close to the real thing when the official photos were released.

really looks more like a 991.3ish facelift rather than a new series. so similar that i don't think a non-porsche owner will know the difference between 991 and this new 992. but i guess that goes the same with most of the other 911 iterations. looks more contemporary in a robocop way. i'm happy with the more curvy lines of my 991

Back end isn’t as bad as I thought it would be from previous spy pics. Headlights have been laid flat, making it look more 928 and less 911.

Until it hits the show room floor it's really hard to tell if it's live, like or hate.
My comments are I like the front end, very 911, don't mind the front hood cut or lights. Profile is good but don't love how the tail lights seem to wrap too far around to the fender, maybe it's because they are so narrow. Not a fan of the back of the car. Do not like how the plastic valance wraps up in the center of the bumper like a 2nd license plate holder, do not like the narrow tail lights and how they run into the rear light bar (a little to Battlestar Galáctica), feels high waisted not mean enough looking. Keep comparing it to my car as I love wide body cars and it is just not working.
I'll wait to see what it looks like in person and see how the TT and TTS have evolved.
