I put cameras in mine for the accident factor, and also it records front and back when parked, with it sensing motion or if there is a hit. Too many times I see folks back into a parked vehicle and then just drive off after taking a look at the damage. I have also seen folks back into a nice car at an intersection, and then claim that they were rear ended. I suspect they see nice car and think easy insurance claim on rich guy. I want video proof of those instances.

As a side note, my camera also seems to pick up conversations outside the vehicle when they are close. Daughter's friends decided to take pictures in front of the car when it was parked outside and then posted pictures of them on Instagram. I went to the camera just to see, and it picked them up talking about sitting on the car for the picture. Luckily they didn't or I would have read them the riot act. But I did send my daughter the full video to show the friends, just to dissuade any thought of that going forward. it is also fun sometimes to go through the videos it takes when I it is parked for some time at the grocery story or other places. Funny to see folks react when they see the car. And as this is the only Porsche TTS in town, it does stick out from all the Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, Challengers, and Chargers running around town.

My front camera is behind the review mirror attached to the glass, so I don't even see it. Back camera is at the to of the glass and I don't notice it. My V1 radar detector is hard wired to the mirror power (done with the help of this link on Renlist:Go.Illini's Radar Install ), and is just to the left and above the mirror at the top of the glass with the suction cups provided so unless it goes off, I don't even notice it.

Live in Middle America? Sounds like a town I grew up in - where i live now my car or a TTS are a dime a dozen. As an aside, my thought today as I drove back from LA - do I really want this camera picking up me singing to Bob Seger or Notorious B.I.G. when I am driving. I can just picture the courtroom hearing my nails on a chalkboard voice leading up to an accident. Good times I am sure...

Has any one installed the Blackvue without the box but to always on? Seems like a lot of extra material in the car cluttering things up? I do worry about parking when I am out and would like to record when parked.

Alaska as it turns out... However, there is also a Lamborghini in town, a Nissan GTR (Both owned by the same guy), and a 997 Turbo owned by an Alaska State Trooper that is out from time to time.

I had them install the BlackVue Power Magic Pro Kit with the camera install. It makes sure the battery doesn't get run down, which is what I most worry about. I also unplug it when I am home as I don't want to keep getting alerts on my phone every time someone walks out into the garage. I do, however, leave it plugged in at home when I and the wife are gone. Good to see if the kids happen to have someone over they aren't supposed to.

This is a "neat" installation. Mounted high and does not interfere with vision.

Escort 360 C and el-cheapo dash cam 70mai. It responds to voice commands and will start a video or take a still.

Jingber, yours is like how I'd like to set mine up. I'm thinking that I could modify the blendmount by making another armature to attach to the camera.Guess it depends how much I want to go and reinvent the wheel in my quest.
For being an El Cheapo camera that is fairly neat for the price. Good for just driving around and the just in case scenario.
I still think I want at least front and back cams that could run for some time. Still doing my research on it.
Thanks for giving us a few pictures.

I was thinking the same and expect Blendmount will add that option in the future. I would like to investigate the possibility or using a real view camera on a cab. Probably not doable but I'll check it out.

BTW -- Found this thread searching for a way to have both Blendmount support a radar detector and a dash cam -- anyway, they make it now

Escort M2 camera integrates with the radar mount on the redline detector.
