Came across this great deal on a center muffler for anyone who wants to add PSE.

I don't have PSE on my 2013 CS 3.8. Wonder if I could rig this up to work on my car? Are there kits for this hookup?

Hey Bud, that is a non-PSE exhaust with fitment for the S models. Both the PSE and the non-PSE have valves on 991 models so that isn't the only indicator.

Without a doubt. They open by themselves in the high 3k rpm range on both S exhausts. With a PSE, the center muffler is different AND you can press the PSE button to have the valves open at lower rpms.

On the S models, the standard muffler is one large piece and the valves are located towards the far left and right edges of the can. On the PSE there are two distinct center cans and the valves are situated in the middle between them.

Here's more info. The following images show the non-S exhaust, the standard S exhaust, and lastly the PSE exhaust.

Mine would be the second pix ( standard S exhaust) Is there a kit available to be able to use existing components to complete a PSE function/hookup?

I've switched back and forth from an aftermarket exhaust but can't directly talk how to do the PSE upgrade. There is an upgrade kit available. The dealer can install it for a fee too. Reprogramming is needed to complete it properly if you want the switch (or don't hook up the vacuum and cap it off if you want it on all of the time).

Here is a link to the instructions on how to install the PSE upgrade along with all of the part numbers. It's on my DropBox until I take it down one day so be sure to copy it.

That is the best I can do for you. Maybe someone with hands-on experience can help more from here.

According to Stormrune's accurate description, I have a PSE center muffler in our storage container that I would be happy to part with. I've installed plenty of valved systems on cars, and there is a valved controller kit for a couple hundred that accomplishes this. It comes with key fobs, but can be easily synced with the homelink buttons

AutoQuest, would that be an OEM PSE center muffler? I’m interested. Asking price?

Yup, same muffler in Stormrune's third photo. Asking $1000 shipped, including a valve controller kit that can sync with the Homelink buttons if you don't want to get thr car reprogrammed by Porsche and the PSE button installed.

Thanks AutoQuest, I’ll pass for now. I’m after a standard PSE kit with a stock install to include the button.

You do not want the kit becuase it uses new ends which are like 1K (your existing ends will work fine).

All you need are the switch (dealer will need to program for $150), the PSE center muffler replacement and some odd hose bits. I know because I preformed this upgrade on mine and it works perfect. I have a parts list I can Pm you if you like.
